Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency is increasing battery recycling opportunities in the area. Officials are reminding residents not to include batteries in their regular waste.
Improper disposal of batteries in the trash (landfilled materials) and recycling carts is a leading cause of solid waste and material recovery facility fires. Prevent fires and the release of hazardous chemicals by properly recycling your batteries. Residents can bring their batteries in small sealable bags to City Hall.
All types of batteries, except EV Batteries, are accepted at this facility.
Examples include:
- Single use batteries
