NOTICE OF OPEN BURNING BAN

DELAWARE COUNTY

This ban goes into effect at 3pm on September 5, 2023, and will continue until further notice.

Conditions are very dry due to lack of rain, and there is no measurable rain in the immediate forecast. Vegetation moisture levels are such that a small spark could lead to a large wildfire.

The use of outdoor fireplaces, barbecue grills, properly supervised landfills, or the burning of trash in incinerators or trash burners made of metal, concrete, masonry, or heavy one-inch wire mesh, with no openings greater than one square inch is still allowed.
