Bi-County Disposal will be distributing new 64-gallon recycling toters to residential garbage customers in early October. The toter and instructions will be delivered to your garbage pick-up location. Once the container is delivered, your first recycling collection will be 2 weeks later and then continue every other week thereafter.
Placement and packing of the toter is very important. Place according to directions and DO NOT tightly pack materials in the container. All recycling materials will need to be in the toter; items not in the toter will not be picked up. Boxes should be folded or cut into pieces to fit in the toter. At this time glass items can still be recycled. These toters are for RECYCLING MATERIALS ONLY – do not place regular household garbage in container.
The toters need to remain with the property. Property owners/landlords will be held responsible if toters are taken. Additional toters or toters for new construction homes can be arranged by contacting Bi-County Disposal at 563-875-9076.
This will definitely be an adjustment, but with cooperation from everyone, this will be a new and exciting process. Please contact City Hall at 563-875-7724 or Bi-County Disposal at 563-875-9076 for questions.
